Thank you so much for your reply! I'm so happy to find someone else who read and loved that story as much as I did -- it took me a while to figure out just why it seemed *so* powerful to me.
I agree that zines are really unique. I love the ease and access of internet fanfic, but the collective formalized effort to put a collection of stories and art out as a unified project -- that part of zines is so great and I do wish it could still happen, even if it was like, a printable PDF or photo-essay posted online instead of a physical copy.
I unfortunately do not and probably never will attend cons, but I'm glad to know one is happening :)
