Holy shit, you guise

Remember that Starsky & Hutch zine review I posted a couple of weeks ago? The one where I referenced and linked fanlore.org a bunch of times? Well, I just discovered that some fanlore editor person apparently read that review and posted excepts of it to the fanlore pages for Zebra Three and hurt/comfort. Fanception! (...Do people still even make references like that or is that so 2011?)

I now feel a weird combo of super-self-conscious and ridiculously flattered. I mean, it was a lot of wordy emotional flailing, and if I ever realize that I got something that's now quoted there massively wrong due to the fact I was just shooting my mouth off for the whole review, I'm gonna be so embarrassed. But seriously, whoever you are mystery person who linked and quoted it -- thanks a hell of a lot. ♥

(It also occurs to me I have no idea whatsoever what the fanlore editing policy is. Which is probably good or I might not be able to resist wasting loads of my time info-dumping on the West Wing page...)

That is freaking awesome!

And also reminds me that I didn't read your post; I bookmarked it but shortly after that laptop died, and we still have not revived it. Must remedy both soon.

Kudos for you!

Nothing is lost fortunately; we'll be able to transfer everything over to a new one. It needs a new motherboard, and it would just be easier to buy a new cheap laptop than to try to replace the motherboard and potentially lose data. :)

I thought your zine review was remarkable - I wish we could travel you back in time to give the feedback to the fans then - they would have loved such a detailed and in depth review (some things never change - even back in the 1970s, fans were lamenting in letterzines about the lack of feedback and how it was discouraging young writers.).

As for dumping on the West Wing page - how about a simple start: your top 10 favorite stories or vids. Something to help give a start to the fanworks

Some of the older fans are still online and a surprising number are on Facebook. So you can still send feedback, although Flamingo is a good place to start. And if there is someone specific you're looking for, I can also see if I can help.

Many of them, when they do find out that fans are still reading and enjoying their work are flattered and bit flustered.

Connie is one of the few that is still snail mail. I can see if Jan Lindner is online.
